PL Thlenga Scholarship Foundation
Mission:
To build upon the life, vision, and ministry of Pastor PL Thlenga by supporting men and women called to pastoral and theological ministry in pursuing theological education and ministerial or academic formation.
Aim:
To support current or future evangelists, Bible workers, pastors and scholars by removing financial barriers to their theological studies and enabling them to pursue the education necessary for faithful and effective ministry.
A Life Poured Out, A Vision Carried Forward
Our beloved father, husband, friend, brother, and pastor, PL Thlenga, was called to sleep in Christ on March 11, 2026. While we deeply grieve this profound loss, we are committed to ensuring that the flame of his ministry continues to burn brightly.
From Struggle to Strength
Pastor P. L. Thlenga’s own journey in education was defined by immense sacrifice. Coming from a humble background without a formal sponsor, he faced significant financial hardships in his pursuit to study the Word of God. Yet, through his faith in God and perseverance, he prevailed.
Because of his own path, his heart was always open to the needs of others. He placed a sacred importance on the academic growth of gospel workers and quietly supported many theology students throughout his life. It was his deepest prayer to one day sponsor individuals just like himself—those with a calling for ministry but limited by their circumstances.
Carrying the Vision Forward
To fulfill this vision, we have established the P. L. Thlenga Scholarship Foundation. Our mission is simple: to ensure that the next generation of gospel leaders can pursue their studies with focus and diligence, unburdened by financial weight.
Our foundation is built upon a heart that prayed until the very end: "Glorify Yourself, glorify Your Church, and glorify Your people through this suffering." We carry this mission forward so that through this scholarshiop, the God that Pastor Thlenga serve throughout his life may be glorified above all else.
2026 Scholarship Opportunity: Spicer Adventist University
Applications are now open for the 2026-2027 academic year. We are specifically inviting candidates called to pursue an MA in Religious Studies at Spicer Adventist University.
This is a full-coverage scholarship designed to provide basic needs for the recipient, including:
